Global Advocates Foundation, University of Exeter, Freedom Now, Human Rights Watch, and Fair Trials International invite you to attend "Tajikistan 2018 - No Freedom Beyond This Point" at the 2018 OSCE ODIHR Human Dimension Implementation Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. The side event will be devoted to the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Tajikistan and the lack of an adequate international response. The event will feature activists, academics, and politicians from Central Asia, Europe, and the U.S. The round table will discuss specific human rights violations perpetrated by Tajikistan in the context of representative political prisoners, as well as will address the international scale of Tajikistan's continued repression.
On request of Global Advocates Foundation, a Member of the Spanish Parliament and the Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions Mr Ignacio Sanchez Amor, intervened and wrote to the Greek authorities regarding the case of the Tajik activist and member of the moderate Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan (IRPT) Mr Mirzorakhim Kuzov, who was detained in Greece after Tajik authorities placed him on the INTERPOL's Red Notice list.
Between 11 and 22 September, 2017, Global Advocates were present at the OSCE ODIHR Human Dimension Implementation Meeting 2017 in Warsaw, the largest human rights and democracy support conference in Europe. Among raised topics were the situation of political refugees from Tajikistan in the EU and the situation of the judiciary in Turkey. The delegation met with OSCE diplomats and public officials, as well as other civic activists.
